A DNR Safety Certificate is required of anyone born after December 31, 1979 to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota.  Benson Community Education is offering a Hunter Education/Firearm Safety course for any student 11 years +.  Student must be 11 at the start of the class; the certificate becomes valid when the student turns 12.  



The course will be held Mondays 2/23/25-4/13/25 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Wifi Cafe at Benson High School.  The Field Day is Saturday 4/25/25. You must take the in-person class to participate in the Field Day.  Those that take the course online are unable to attend the field day and must find an alternative location.



Cost of the class is $7.50.  A parent must attend the beginning of the 1^st class with their student to completed DNR paperwork. Firearms are not permitted on the 1^st day of class, the instructors will discuss bringing firearms at that class.
